Three Roadblocks to Overcome for Success in this New Year

Welcome, 2022!

A new year is a perfect opportunity for fresh beginnings, but it can be challenging to maintain a positive mindset when entering another year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Setting our goals will be the easy part. The journey to achieve those goals is where the success lays.

In today’s Timber talks we want to share with you our views on the most common roadblocks that can hamper your success.

Roadblocks to Success

As we enter the new year, it is very easy to develop an extensive list of possible roadblocks you may encounter when reaching a goal, such as no clear vision, change, fear of failure, procrastination, lack of determination, and enthusiasm; but let’s keep it simple. Here are our top three:

Over-analysis

This is one of the leading causes of failure when achieving a goal. Yes, we need to develop a realistic plan for how we are going to achieve our goals for 2022, including the risks and obstacles we may encounter, but once this is complete, we need to “Take Action.” You will never know if your plan will work if you don’t maintain the inertia generated in the development process and implement your plan. Too much planning and not enough doing!!

Bad Habits

As we begin 2022 we all need to spend time doing some positive self-examination. Develop a list of your weaknesses and bad habits. How are these weaknesses going to affect achieving your personal and professional goals this year?  When a weakness is in the open and written on a list, it becomes easier to overcome. This is a chance to improve yourself while attaining both your personal and professional goals in 2022.

Positive Attitude

This seems pretty obvious. Someone must initially have a “positive attitude” to develop a plan of action. Yes, this is often the case, but attitude becomes a huge roadblock during the implementation of a plan. You must always maintain that positive attitude and own your path to success, no matter how long it takes. Remember that a Positive Attitude is contagious.

Like we said before, setting your goals is only the beginning, the easy part.  It is when we take action to achieve those goals where we need to put all our effort and determination. It would probably not be easy or fast, but it will be worth it. Guaranteed!

We will love to have you as part of our Timber Talks family, and to share with you our road to success this 2022.  Please share with us how do you prepare yourself to achieve your 2022 goals.
